ServiceMix Graduates from the Apache Incubator; Becomes a Top Level Project

The Apache Software Foundation (ASF) has voted to graduate ServiceMix from the Apache Incubator to the status of a "top-level project" (TLP). This means that ServiceMix will leave the Apache Incubator and will be an "Apache Project" just like Apache ActiveMQ or any other Apache-based development effort. This is very good news for the ServiceMix team, and they deserve congratulations for the years of effort they have invested into ServiceMix. Of course, graduating from the Apache Incubator is not a technical endorsement -- it is recognition by the ASF that a project team has demonstrated diversity, open communications and processes, and a commitment to the ASF's principles regarding intellectual property and open source development. In addition, IONA principal engineer Guillaume Nodet has been elected to be the Project Management Committee Chair for the ServiceMix Project. Anyone who has been involved with ServiceMix knows Guillaume's boundless energy and commitment to making ServiceMix a success, so this is a well-deserved recognition of his efforts. New Update Release for FUSE ESB

The new FUSE ESB v3.2.0.1 provides better integration between ServiceMix, Apache Camel and Apache CXF. Because IONA provides Apache Camel and Apache CXF in our FUSE Mediation Router and FUSE Services Framework products, this update will be of particular interest to you if you are considering using those products together with FUSE ESB. The advantage of better integration of FUSE ESB with FUSE Services Framework is that the FUSE Services Framework can be used as a robust endpoint for SOAP services on FUSE ESB, with full support for JAX-WS 2.0. The advantage of better integration of FUSE ESB with FUSE Mediation Router is that FUSE Mediation Router can be employed to manage processes implemented on FUSE ESB, using a lightweight POJOs that you can configure in an IDE, and you can design processes in familiar Enterprise Integration Patterns descriptions.
