Apil 9, 2007: IONA Acquires LogicBlaze

  • LogicBlaze includes committers and project leads for the ActiveMQ, ServiceMix and Camel projects in the Apache Community
  • LogicBlaze brings additional open source expertise to IONA, particularly in the area of community-building

July 9, 2007: Open.iona.com Community & IONA FUSE Introduced

  • IONA FUSE, a family of advanced, open source SOA infrastructure products closely aligned to some of the most popular Apache Software Foundation projects.
  • IONA FUSE features componentized, standards-based and technology-neutral SOA infrastructure products that work together or independently and allows customers unprecedented flexibility in SOA adoption.
  • IONA FUSE includes FUSE ESB, based on the Apache ServiceMix project, FUSE Message Broker, based on the Apache ActiveMQ project, FUSE Services Framework, based on the Apache CXF project and FUSE Mediation Router, based on the Apache Camel project. 
  • The new http://open.iona.com community site was launched as a collaborative community around the new IONA FUSE product line, replacing the pre-existing LogicBlaze and IONA open source sites.  

August 27, 2007: Update Release of FUSE Available for Download

  • FUSE Message Broker v5.0 was introduced, based on the new Apache ActiveMQ v5.0, includes new features that improve performance for large-scale message processing.
  • FUSE ESB v3.3, based on Apache ServiceMix, provides better integration among the FUSE components.
  • FUSE Message Broker v5.0 now includes FUSE Mediation Router, based on Apache Camel, inside for easy creation of Enterprise Integration Patterns
  • Integration is improved between FUSE ESB and FUSEServices Framework to make it easier to use FUSE Services Framework as a robust endpoint for SOAP services on FUSE ESB, with full support for JAX-WS 2.0.
  • Integration is improved between FUSE ESB and FUSEMediation Router to enable FUSE Mediation Router to manage processes implemented on FUSE ESB, using lightweight POJOs that you can configure in an IDE, and you can design processes in familiar Enterprise Integration Patterns descriptions.

December 10, 2007: FUSE HQ Introduced, FUSE Update Release Available

  • FUSE HQ was introduced to provide a web-based management console available for FUSE Developer and Production Support Subscribers.  FUSE HQ is based on Hyperic HQ Enterprise and takes advantage of the JMX-based reporting capabilities of the FUSE products to deliver advanced systems management and monitoring capabilities to administrators.
